Actuaries are in the business of helping individuals, organizations and society to be more financially secure. In this program, you’ll learn how to identify, quantify, assess and manage risk to produce theoretically sound information in actuarial practice.

From botany to microbiology, genetics to epidemiology, this degree will prepare you for professional employment and/or entry into graduate or professional schools. In cooperation with the Division of Education, you can also qualify to enter the field of biology education.

Courses range from applications development to electronic commerce, and cybersecurity to healthcare technology, preparing you for careers in a range of industries, as well as entrepreneurship and graduate education. You’ll also learn to understand both the benefits and the responsibilities that technological advancement affords, so you’ll think about how you can use your skills to improve the world and contribute to a better society.

This interdisciplinary degree addresses a wide range of environmental concerns, with hands-on research that breaks down boundaries. You’ll prepare for a career in research, management, government service, teaching, and other areas where you can tackle environmental problems.
