Campus Preview Day 2026 2

Miles College Welcomes Future Golden Bears for Campus Preview Day

On Saturday, April 18, Miles College hosted Campus Preview Day, welcoming prospective students and their families for a day centered on academic opportunity, student life, and the path to enrollment.

The day began in Pearson Hall, where faculty and academic leaders met with visiting families. These conversations provided a clear introduction to the college’s academic programs, expectations, and support systems, giving prospective students a direct connection to the people and resources that will shape their success.

Following the academic sessions, guests joined current students and the admissions team for guided campus tours. Visitors explored classrooms, learning spaces, and student resources, gaining a firsthand understanding of the environment they could soon call home.

Throughout the day, prospective students experienced the energy and culture that define Miles College. Student activities created space for connection, while Band Day remained a central part of the experience. High school band students, along with current and former Miles College musicians, engaged with the Purple Marching Machine and performed throughout the day, including during the Spring Football Game, offering a full view of the program’s reach, discipline, and tradition.

“Following a successful band day, I am optimistic regarding the future prospects of the Purple Marching Machine,” said Professor Willie J. Snipes, Director of Bands. “I hope that the 1,000 high school students in attendance will retain the knowledge imparted to them and share it with their respective high schools. It has been a privilege to collaborate with students representing 13 different states.”

The day continued at Sloan Alumni Stadium, where attendees watched the Golden Bears at the Spring Football Game. The upcoming season will mark the second year under Head Coach Chris Goode, as the program continues to build a strong foundation for future success. Across multiple sports, prospective student-athletes were in attendance, engaging directly with coaches and learning more about the expectations and opportunities within Miles College Athletics.

“Preview Day reflected the strength of the Miles College community and the growing demand for flexible learning options,” said Dr. Kesha James, Dean of Online Learning. “Prospective students are balancing real responsibilities and are ready to enroll in programs that meet them where they are. Miles Online is designed to expand access while delivering the same quality, structure, and support as the on-campus experience.”

Campus Preview Day also took place during Alumni Weekend, bringing Mileans back to campus for a series of events that reflected the strength and continuity of the Miles College community. Alumni were acknowledged throughout the weekend, offering prospective students a clear view of the long-term value of a Miles College education.

The weekend began with the Miles College Sports Banquet on Friday, where scholar-athletes were recognized for their achievements in competition and in the classroom. The program reinforced the standard of excellence expected across athletics and the institution as a whole.

Campus Preview Day served as an introduction to what it means to be a Golden Bear. From academic preparation to student engagement and leadership development, prospective students were able to see themselves in the experience.

Prospective students and families are encouraged to take the next step by applying, scheduling a campus visit, or connecting with the Office of Admissions at Miles College. The journey to becoming a Golden Bear begins here.
