Miles College Scholars Engage Industry Leaders at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International
Miles College scholars recently traveled to Vance, Alabama, for an immersive industry visit at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, gaining firsthand exposure to global operations, corporate leadership, and workforce innovation.
During the visit, students engaged alongside peers from Stillman College and met with leaders from the communications department, sales team, and executive leadership, including CEO Federico Kochlowski. The experience provided meaningful insight into the strategic thinking, operational precision, and technological advancement that drive one of the world’s most respected automotive manufacturers.
Scholars examined production systems, operational efficiencies, and the challenges that shape market competitiveness. Conversations also focused on workforce development and innovation, reinforcing the connection between academic preparation and industry demand. Dialogue centered on building sustainable pipelines that move students from classroom learning to career pathways, while encouraging innovation that advances from ideas to scalable business ventures.
The visit reflects Miles College’s continued investment in strengthening corporate partnerships that expand access and elevate career readiness. By connecting scholars directly with executives and industry professionals, the College advances its commitment to aligning academic rigor with measurable economic impact.

Participating students included Nyla Graves, a junior majoring in Psychology; Raven Maxwell, a sophomore majoring in Biology; Anya Creecy, a junior majoring in Environmental Science; Kiera Williams, a junior majoring in Criminal Justice; Caleb Davis, a junior majoring in Computer Information Science; Jason Cox, a freshman majoring in Biology; and Roderick Thomas, a sophomore majoring in Computer Information Science.
As Miles College continues to expand industry engagement, experiences like this affirm the institution’s focus on clear pathways from education to employment, as well as technology transfer and commercialization.
