About This Program

Miles College’s major in Management Information Systems (MIS) program gives you an in-depth education in the uses of computers in business. You’ll explore both business and information technology, and learn how to solve business problems using hardware, operating systems, networking, programming, and database management. — technologies that play a central role in how companies manage their IT resources. At graduation, you’ll be prepared to manage and innovate within digital business environments.

Program Highlights

As an MIS major at Miles, you can pick a concentration in any of three areas:

MIS-Cybersecurity Track 
This concentration prepares you to manage and secure business IT infrastructures. Topics include ethical hacking, computer forensics, cloud computing, and CISSP security essentials. 

MIS-E-Commerce Track 
Learn how to leverage technology to support online business operations. The curriculum includes website design and development, multimedia and user experience design, digital marketing and social media strategy, and e-commerce systems. 

Business Intelligence Track 
This concentration focuses on data-driven decision-making. You’ll study data analytics and visualization, business statistics, systems and IT systems analysis and design, and project management, and decision support systems.
