Miles College Hazing Policy & Procedures
The Stop Campus Hazing Act (SCHA) was signed by President Biden on December 23, 2024, and took effect on January 1, 2025, requiring institutions to update policies and report hazing incidents. Key mandates include updating annual security reports, establishing prevention programs by June 23, 2025, and publishing transparency reports by December 23, 2025.
Why Hazing is Harmful?
Hazing doesn’t build unity — it breaks trust. It can have long-lasting emotional, psychological, and physical consequences. Hazing:

Endangers student health and safety

Undermines group values and integrity

Creates toxic power dynamics

Can result in disciplinary action, legal consequences, and organizational suspension
Examples of Hazing Behaviors
Physical harm or forced physical activity.
Sleep deprivation or forced fatigue.
Forced consumption of food, alcohol, or other substances.
Verbal abuse or humiliation
Isolation or exclusion from normal activities
Forced participation in degrading tasks
Miles College's Commitment
Miles College takes all reports of hazing seriously. Our goal is prevention through education, support, and enforcement. We promote a culture of positive team-building and leadership development through safe and inclusive practices.

Hazing Transparency Report
In accordance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act (SCHA), Miles College will maintain a Campus Hazing Transparency Report (CHTR). This report provides information on confirmed hazing violations by organizations formally recognized by the University. The CHTR will be updated biannually, as required.
