Anthony D. Sewell

Academic Advisor

Anthony Sewell joined Miles College in 2021 as an Athletic Academic Advisor. Prior to that, Anthony worked as a coach for both high school and college where he gained experience counseling students through the college process. Anthony is a member of NACADA, The Global Community for Academic Advising a 501 nonprofit organization. It is an international, educational association of individuals engaged in the work of academic advising. 

Anthony is actively involved in the college advising process, participating in online seminars, and regularly touring college campuses. Anthony, a former Division 1 Collegiate Coach himself, is also extremely knowledgeable about the college athletic recruiting process and its vast governing rules and regulations. Anthony grew up in Selma, Al and earned his BS from Troy University. Throughout her 30-year career, Anthony has worked as a Teacher and Athletic Coach on all levels.

Anthony brings with him extensive knowledge and a passion to drive results. Anthony is recognized for her unfettered enthusiasm and ability to bring out the best in his students and their parents as they manage the college admissions process. Anthony has become known for his skills in leadership, teaching, loyalty, and recruiting; His success as a relationship builder has made him one of the top recruiters in the south. Sewell is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Anthony is the son of the Late Coach A.A. and Nancy Gardener Sewell, and the father of Carter Andrew Sewell. He has a twin brother Andrew and a sister, Terri.
