How It Works
Online classes at Miles College cover the same material as on-ground classes and are just as rigorous, but they are eight instead of 16 weeks long. You can complete all of your work online and have access to virtual academic support services, but you are also welcome to use campus resources.
Supported Learning
You’ll work with an academic advisor and have access to the same level of student and academic support as on-site Miles students. Professors are available for office hours via phone, email or text.

No, all your interactions—academic, business office, financial aid, etc.—can be done virtually, and your textbooks are digital. However, you’re welcome on campus if you prefer to take care of any of the above in person, or if you’d like to attend campus events or use the computers in the Learning Resource Center.

All Miles College online courses are asynchronous. Asynchronous learning means that you, your classmates, and instructor in the class all participate in the course at different times during the week and from any location.

Each class is eight weeks long. You’ll access your classes through the Canvas Learning Management System portal located on the Miles College Website. When you log in, you will see all the classes that you are taking there. Each class has a course shell through which you can complete and submit all your class work.
You can access and do your work on your computer. You can also use a smartphone, but computers are recommended, because some course shell features may not work well on phones.

No, online classes are not easier. Online classes have the same instructional framework, learning outcomes, content, requirements, and rigor as the traditional 16-week on-ground equivalent, but you’ll complete the program in eight instead of 16 weeks.

You’ll complete all of your quizzes, tests, exams and assignments online, unless you’d prefer to take them on campus using the Learning Resource Center’s computers during open hours. You can also come to the Learning Resource Center just to use the computers.

Yes, online students enjoy the same level of student support as traditional on-ground students.
