Miles College Welcomes Recent Graduate Daja Grallon as Steaming Flags Instructor
Miles College proudly recognizes Ms. Daja Gratton, a member of the Class of 2025, for her dedication, leadership, and contributions to the Purple Marching Machine and the Steaming Flags.
From 2021 to 2025, Gratton was an active member of both the Purple Marching Machine and the Steaming Flags, honing her color guard skills while representing Miles College with pride. Her collegiate journey reflects a deep commitment to discipline, precision, teamwork, and the standard of excellence associated with the College’s band program.
As a student performer, Gratton contributed to one of Miles College’s most visible and beloved traditions. Through her work with the Steaming Flags, she helped bring energy, artistry, and school spirit to performances that continue to uplift the Miles College community.
Beyond performance, Gratton has shown a passion for mentorship and coaching. She has worked to support aspiring performers by sharing instructional techniques rooted in confidence, leadership, sportsmanship, and hands-on training. Her commitment to helping others develop their abilities speaks to the broader impact she has made both on and off the field.
