Miles College and Trenholm State Community College Form New Partnership for Student Success

FAIRFIELD, Al. (February 17, 2023) – Trenholm State Community College and Miles College are partnering to create scholarship opportunities and pathways to earning a bachelor’s degree. The institutions’ leaders will sign an articulation agreement during a Monday morning ceremony in Montgomery, Alabama, on the campus of Trenholm State Community College, Patterson site, Building D (3920 Troy Highway). The ceremony is set to begin at 10 am. 

The agreement has four components: a collaborative and seamless transfer process, scholarship eligibility, reverse transfer credit, and student services.

Trenholm State Community College students will be considered for admission to Miles College after earning an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science with up to a maximum of 64 semester hours transferring. Additionally, Trenholm State Community College students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

Dr. Kemba Chambers, President of Trenholm State Community College, stated, “We are thrilled to have a new partnership with Miles College. The signing of this articulation agreement is historic and monumental, as this is our first articulation and partnership with Miles College. This articulation agreement will provide future educational pathways for our students to transfer to Miles to complete their bachelor’s degree seamlessly.”

The new partnership will provide reciprocal privileges from using Miles College’s Library Resource Center and Career Center and admission to athletic events. Trenholm State Community College and Miles College also have opportunities for advising.
