MaKayla Martin Crowned National American Miss Alabama, will Compete at Nationals November 23-30
MaKayla Martin, a 20-year-old junior at Miles College, was recently crowned National American Miss Alabama in the Miss Division. She will go on to represent Alabama at the National American Miss National Pageant this November, where she will compete for the National title.
In addition to her state title, MaKayla also earned first place in the Community Service competition, recognized for her dedication and the significant number of hours she has contributed to serving others. She was also awarded 1st Runner-Up in the Actress competition, where she submitted a video performance of a commercial scene, further showcasing her talent and passion for the arts.
MaKayla is currently pursuing a degree in Communications with a concentration in Digital Journalism at Miles College. Passionate about storytelling and the arts, she is actively working toward a career in television acting, taking on roles in productions across Birmingham as she builds her experience in the entertainment industry.
Reflecting on her journey, MaKayla shared:
“Competing in National American Miss has been so much more to me than a place to dress up and have fun. It’s been a place I’ve found a missing piece of me in confidence and self-encouragement I’ve lacked my entire life. I found this three years ago in NAM, and I won’t ever lose it. This is a huge honor, and I’m so excited for the year to come.”
As National American Miss Alabama, MaKayla will hold her title for the next year, representing not only the state but also the values of leadership, service, and self-confidence that NAM promotes.
The National American Miss National Pageant will take place this November, where MaKayla will compete alongside titleholders from across the country.
