Fairfield and Birmingham’s HBCU

Founded in Fairfield, Alabama, within the greater Birmingham metropolitan area, Miles College was established to expand opportunities for African Americans across the region. While rooted in Fairfield, the College has played a pivotal role in shaping Birmingham’s legacy, standing at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s.

Today, Miles continues to build on that legacy, serving as a driver of innovation, workforce development, and economic mobility across the Birmingham region.
