Announcement of New Miles College Women’s Business Center (MCWBC) Director
Miles College is pleased to announce that Talibah M. Bayles has been selected to serve as the next Director of the Miles College Women’s Business Center (MCWBC), a program funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
In this role, Bayles will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Center, overseeing program delivery, entrepreneurship training, coaching services, and community partnerships designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners in Birmingham, Alabama, and the surrounding region.
Bayles brings more than 18 years of experience in strategic management, entrepreneurship support, and small-business capital readiness, including extensive work with federal, state, and local governments. As the Founder of TMB Tax & Financial Services, B.C., a Birmingham-based tax strategy and financial advisory firm, she works directly with entrepreneurs to strengthen financial systems, tax strategy, and operational readiness. She is also the creator of Bankably™, a financial-readiness technology platform designed to help business owners prepare for funding by strengthening financial documentation, improving tax compliance, and providing business education.
Bayles has been an active contributor to the regional and national small business development ecosystem for several years. She has been a contributing leader at the Miles College Women’s Business Center since its inception in 2022, serving as an instructor and helping deliver entrepreneurship and financial-readiness training to local business owners. In addition, she served as the Birmingham Coach for the Small Business Administration T.H.R.I.V.E. Emerging Leaders Reimagined Program from 2023 through 2025, mentoring growth-stage entrepreneurs as they scaled their businesses. Through her work as an advisor, educator, and practitioner, Bayles has become a recognized subject-matter expert in small-business development and capital readiness.
As Director of MCWBC, Bayles will focus on strengthening the Center’s role as a regional hub for entrepreneurship by leveraging existing relationships within Alabama’s small business ecosystem, expanding training programs, deepening community partnerships, securing the funding match, and mentoring business owners at every phase of their entrepreneurial journey.
“I’m honored to step into this role and continue supporting entrepreneurs across Birmingham and the surrounding region,” said Bayles. “Women’s Business Centers play a vital role in expanding opportunity, strengthening local economies, and helping business owners move from ideas to impact. I look forward to building on the strong foundation we’ve already established at the Miles College Women’s Business Center and working alongside our partners to help entrepreneurs launch, grow, and scale sustainable businesses.”
