Miles College Announces New Academic Programs and Scholarships

Fairfield, AlabamaMiles College is aligning itscurriculum programs to meet workforce demands with the launch of its newest academic programs starting Fall 2020.

The academic programs, pending the approval of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), include the College's first online Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and a minor in Game Design.

In addition to the new academic programs, Miles College recently restructured a variety of scholarships that will assist prospective students in financing their education. Most notably, high school and community college graduates with a 2.75-grade point average get a $2,500 scholarship renewable for three years. There is no ACT/SAT requirement to receive this scholarship, and all students who gain admission to the College and meet the minimum qualifications will be awarded this scholarship.

"This adjustment is the first step in aligning our academic infrastructure to support President Bobbie Knight's vision of providing a quality educational experience to all students who plan to enroll at Miles College, says Michael Johnson, Vice President of Student Success. "We are reallocating resources to fund student's unmet financial needs and offering academic programs that meet workforce demands," says Johnson.

The application process for Fall 2020 is currently open, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis at www.miles.edu. For more information on scholarships, please call the Office of Admissions at 205-929-1656.
