To the Miles College Community:

Let us remember the life and times of Martin Luther King not only on this day, January 20th, but each day of our lives.  I encourage our Miles College community to reflect on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King and the legacy that he left to he inspire future generations.

There are two quotes by Dr. King I want you to remember:

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you

           doing for others?”

“Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will

make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your

country, and a finer world to live in.”

More than fifty years ago, students at Miles were engaged in successful efforts to make the world a better place by answering the question “What are you doing for others?” Today, I ask all of us to strive to improve the plight of others thus, making our world a better place for all.
