Miles College Division of Education is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and collegial Early Childhood Specialist with a strong commitment to the mission of the Division and College. The Division of Education offers programs on teacher education that meet the Alabama State Department of Education teacher certification requirements. Programs include: Early Childhood Grades P-3, Elementary Education, Music Education (Instrumental), and Secondary Education (Biology/Biology Education, Biology/General Education, Chemistry/Chemistry Education, English/English Education, History/General Social Science and Mathematics/Mathematics Education). The Division also offers a major in Child Development, which is a non-certification program. In addition, The Division of also offers courses in instructional technology, physical education and health.
Responsibilities: The indidividual will be responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and ensuring that learning resources and materials are aligned with instruction in the Early Childhood Program. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, student recruitment, student advisement, participation in divisional and college activities, committee assignments, institutional effectiveness goals, and professional development, as well as overall support of college programs and student organizations.
Required Qualifications:Alabama Teacher License (Eligible)
Doctorate Degree in Education
Specialty in Early Childhood
Minimum 3-5 Years’ Experience in P-12 schools
Computer Skills (Blackboard, TK20, Microsoft Office)
Ability to work with others and Follow Directions
