The Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Miles College seeks applicants for a full-time Laboratory Instructor starting August 3. The successful candidates will teach introductory level laboratories in Biology. The Lab Coordinator/Manager will report to the Program Coordinators of Biology
1. Instruct laboratory courses for biology
2. Maintain the inventory of lab supplies and equipment.
3. Train and supervise undergraduate laboratory assistants.
4. Equipment used in this position will include compound and dissecting microscopes,
Centrifuges, micropipettes, electrophoresis equipment, routine lab equipment,
field sampling equipment, and physical science apparatus.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
A bachelor's degree required or a master's degree preferred in Biology or a closely related field. Previous experience as a laboratory assistant is preferred.
Experience using technology in your daily teaching of biology
§ Experience implementing course management systems such as Blackboard
and online homework systems
§ Experience working in a collaborative environment within and across disciplines
§ Demonstrated service to the profession
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
DAYS/HOURS: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm
