Job Title:                        IT Support Technician
Reporting to:                  Senior Advisor and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives
 
Job Summary
IT support technician needed to support Office of Information Technology. This person will be responsible for maintenance of computers, printers, copiers, peripherals and associated software for the Miles College community.
 
Job Description

Provide technical support and training to faculty, staff, and students using College computing resources and systems
Service and setup of College desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, software applications, peripherals, printers and copiers campus-wide
Provide customer support through onsite presence and remote 
Load applications and support various internal and external software’s
Analyzes/troubleshoots hardware and software issues
Assist in maintaining IT parts, equipment and contributes equally in IT related projects
Assist in maintaining databases
Acts as a member of a team to support all computers for employees, classrooms and labs on campus, and communicate by working effectively with the campus community 
Assist with Sound, Audio, and Visual events that may occur on or off campus
Assist with the College’s television cable system with maintenance and repairs
Core Competencies
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to communicate technical content to those without technical experience
Ability to work effectively within a diverse community
Required Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information management or related field.
Course work on computer repair or related field OR certifications (A+ certification, Microsoft certifications, Apple certifications) is required
Minimum six months work-related experience preferred
Knowledge of networks, switches, and router
May require after office hours and weekends
