JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:  Administrative Assistant

Miles College Upward Bound Program

 

Qualifications:       

  1. Have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree (preferred)
  2. Two years of clerical experience with interpersonal skills, organizational, communication and human relations skills in a fast paced office environment
  3. Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, desktop publishing, computerized production of documents, email, Windows, Word XP, and data based management

  

Responsibilities:

  1. Ability to prioritize assignments
  2. Order & maintain an accounting of Upward Bound supplies and all inventory
  3. Maintain an update filing system; keep updated records on each student, faculty and staff personnel
  4. Use diplomacy and multitasking while recognizing the need for flexibility and cooperation
  5. Effective communication skills and the ability to assist the Director or Counselor with the overall functioning of the program
  6. Opening the office at 8:00 a.m.
  7. Supervising Work-Study Student(s)
  8. Data entry for Performance Reporting
  9. Data entry for Budget Record Keeping
  10. Scheduling interviews & meetings
