Must have at least five years development experience on a higher education or related field, including capital campaign management.
Must be knowledgeable in handling a major gifts program and its planning giving instruments.
Must have cultivated significant contacts with private and corporate foundations and individual donors.
Must have ability and interest in working with a team in the generation and implementation of successful development strategies.
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to handle numerous task at one time.
Plans and conducts operational, financial and compliance audits, to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls; Determine compliance with selected policies, procedures, and regulations. Make written recommendations to management to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness of the control systems of functions reviewed. Perform special investigations as requested by the President and/or Senior Management. This position works with all levels of management and employees within the College, and external auditors. Consults with management at all levels to promote good business practices.
Position Summary: The Director of Sports Information is responsible for all aspects of media and sports information relating to the college’s 10 intercollegiate sports: Football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross-country, golf, outdoor track and field, baseball, softball, and volleyball. The Director of Sports Information is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Miles College and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), and the NCAA. Miles College is a member of the NCAA at the Division II level.
