Meet Miss Miles College
Miss Miles College 2019 - 2020
Impress Armani Williams
Impress Armani Williams was born in Oakland, California on August 11, 1997. She has also lived in Illinois and Arizona. She was named Impress; because, of the admiration her mother (Quanda Jones and father (Imani) Williams shared for her. She is proud to be a big sister to Nataevia Whitfield, her only sibling.
Impress has faced many obstacles growing up that should have set her back. However, these obstacles throughout her struggles have enabled her to make the best of her circumstances. She always dreamed of attending college; fortunately, her dream has become a reality.
Upon Impress arrival on Miles College campus, she was amazed by the historical beauty, the southern hospitality and culture.
Since her freshman year, Impress has been extremely active in campus organizations: Miss Black and Gold (2017-2018), Sophomore Class Secretary, the UNCF Club, the Spanish Club, team captain of Cross-Country and Track and Field, Honors Curriculum, Jumpstart Mentor, First Year Enrichment Mentor, Academic Coach, Miss Honors Curriculum, President of Phenomenal Woman, Junior Class President, Pep Squad, M-Team, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Impress knew that God sent her to Miles College with a purpose greater than herself. She had the desire to run for Miss Miles College and when the time came, she went for it. Her campaign was a testimonial and she stood high on her platform: “Take Action to Restore, Re-inspire students, Reunite Miles College Students.” “Miles College is already a great institution; however, every generation of students should make their mark and leave Miles College better than when they came,” states Impress!
Her mission as Miss Miles College is to always be an example by keeping God first in everything that she does by allowing Him to be her guide throughout her matriculation at Miles College. She also wants students to be proud of their life story and wear their “Crowns” as kings and queens.
Impress is extremely ambitious and has many goals that she desire to accomplish. Following graduation, she plans to move to Atlanta, Georgia , enter Emory University’s JD/MBA program.
After she becomes a successful entrepreneur, with her own franchise of beauty bar salons, she has a huge desire to give back to Dear Old Miles, her family and foster children!
Impress walks by the scripture, Romans 8:28 which reads, “And we Know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” To Impress, this means that no matter how bad things may seem, as long as you are God’s servant, He will allow everything to work out for the good.
Her motto is: “You may not control all the events that happen to you: but, you can decide not to be reduced by them.” -Maya Angelou
