My career in Higher Education began in 2004 at Miles College. Hi. My name is Mequell Mayfield. As a native of Jackson, Georgia; I received my education from the Butts County school system. Upon graduating, I navigated to the beautiful state of Alabama, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from “Dear Old Miles College.” Due to the respect and appreciation I have for my Alma Mater and the HBCU (Historically Black College and University) experience, I decided to take a job at my beloved institution, where I currently serve as an Admissions Counselor/Recruiter. While a student at Miles, I was involved in a number of activities and organizations: the Interdenominational Ministerial Association (IMA), Student Government Association (SGA), the Miles College Collegians, Students in Free Enterprise (S.I.F.E.), and the Milles College baseball team.
