Greetings Upcoming Mileans:

You may ask the question, how does one become a Milean?  This is not someone that just develops once you have enrolled at Miles College or once you have worked here for a number of years.  No. A Milean is a person that takes PRIDE in this Institution, in his or her Residence Halls, and in his or her education.  A Milean has learned the importance of time-management and
is a person who does not complain or criticize first, but tries to make a difference first.  A Milean is a person of distinction who can be noticed wherever he or she might be. A Milean is a person filled with  an extreme amount of PRIDE in his or her heart when singing our Alma Mater, “Dear Old Miles”, that that passion is mirrored in his or her eyes, showing through from his or her soul, and most importantly a person that bleeds purple and gold.  A person is not made into a Milean…a person develops into a Milean.
Let me be one of the first to welcome you to an Institution that takes PRIDE in its students.  If there is anyway that faculty or staff can assist you into making your transition a little smoother, all you have to do is ask.  College molds students into responsible adults.  College is an up close and personal experience of the Charles Darwin Theory, which is “The survival of the fittest.”  Your choice of attending college and utilizing the many resources at your disposal places you into the educated elite portion of society.  Miles College is the perfect place for students to develop into scholars and the prominent educated elites of society.

For those of you who are not sure of what my job is, let me explain.  I am the 2007-2008 Student Government Association President.  This means that if there is a problem, question, complaint, comment, suggestion, vision or anything else of that nature notify me and it will be addressed.  My job is to serve YOU and to make sure everyone else in the Milean family is serving you as well.  My job is to be on call for YOU around the clock; hence the name STUDENT Government Association President.  In order for me to serve you to the best of my ability, it must be a two way street. “If I do not know it is broken I can not fix it!”  So my fellow upcoming Mileans PLEASE let me know it is broken so I can fix it.  Again WELCOME!

Students feel free to contact me at sunkeissacantrell@yahoo.com with any questions or concerns.
