For 100 years, Miles College has provided quality education and opportunities for young people who wish to learn and prepare for life.  During our centennial celebration, we observed our rich heritage as Birmingham's only senior Historically Black College and the impact it has made in the lives of our 8,000 alumni.  While continuing its original purpose of providing young African-Americans with a chance for a strong college education and values of leadership and service, Miles welcomes people of all races to join its students and graduates.

 

A college education had always held the promise of a better life, and Miles College has delivered on that promise for more than one hundred years.  The ideals of intellectual growth and academic excellence will continue to be our foundation for a strong liberal arts education.  Today Miles is enhancing its mission to provide academic choices in our region, planning for the expansion of its academic curriculum to effectively serve the needs of the market place, and strengthening its role as a leader in innovative learning and strategic community partnering.
