Criteria For Scholarship–2008
- Be a Georgia Resident For a Minimum of 6 months.
- Scholarship amount up to $1,000 for unmet qualified college expenses (tuition fees, room and board and books).
- Be classified as either an undergrad freshman thru Senior in the School of Liberal Arts.
- Scholarship does not cover Summer School.
- Possess a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.
- Be a Full Time Student.
- Write a two (2) page double-spaced, twelve (12) fonts, typewritten Essay stating career goals and how the scholarship will help achieve those goals with a Cover Letter.
- Essay and Cover Letter must be received, no later than June 6, 2008 to the Miles College Alumni Association -Atlanta Chapter.
- The Miles College Alumni Association – Atlanta Chapter, must receive a copy of the most recent ‘Grade Report’ or ‘High School Transcript’ no later than June 6, 2008. Freshmen and Transferring students entering Miles College for the first time must provide a copy of ‘Final Acceptance Letter’ from Miles College. If student does not arrive and enroll at Miles, Scholarship will be revoked and returned to the Miles College Alumni Association – Atlanta Chapter.
- Applicants will be Eligible for scholarship only one academic year.
While it is the wish that everyone receives a scholarship, not everyone will. You will be judged on:
- Promptness
- Ability to Follow Instructions
- Written Essay (Spelling and organization)
- Cover Letter (salutation, dated and signed)
- Meeting all the criteria’s for the scholarship
