College Registrar

 

Miles College is seeking a Registrar.  Reporting to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Registrar ensures that the office provides the highest level of service to the college community.  The Registrar manages all staff and functions associated with student academic records, including but not restricted to: planning and executing orderly registration and graduation of students; managing online registration process, developing academic calendar and course scheduling, maintaining and securing student records, evaluating the acceptance of transfer credits, processing grades, preparing and distributing transcripts; maintaining academic reports and compliance with academic policies and FERPA regulations.

It is essential that the Registrar effectively and timely collaborate with the office of academic affairs, academic divisions, offices of admissions and enrollment, advising and student affairs,  as well as provide information and data for use and review by college units, planning and research personnel and other authorized personnel and agencies.

The ideal candidate will have excellent management skills and a student-focused orientation.  Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities necessary, as is experience in a post-secondary academic environment.  Knowledge of accepted higher education practices, best practices related to the work of a registrar, as well as FERPA and relevant federal and state policies is required.  A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible managerial experience and a master’s degree in a related field is preferred.  A working knowledge of military and foreign credential evaluation is desirable, or at least a willingness to learn how to evaluate these credentials.  Experience with technology specifically with student information systems is required; experience with AS400 software helpful.
