General Information

All continuing and prospective students seeking financial assistance, including scholarships, through the College are required to submit a Free for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All continuing and prospective students must apply for the Federal Pell Grant and submit to the Financial Aid Office a Student Aid Report (SAR) prior to being considered for any other aid through the College. Students who are legal residents of the State of Alabama must complete an Alabama Student Grant Application.
In awarding financial aid, all sources available are considered in determining the financial aid award package from the College. Students are not awarded financial aid in excess of the amount needed to cover tuition, room and board, books and supplies, personal expenses, and other indirect educational expenses as determined by the College. In compliance with Federal regulations, no student can be over awarded.
The maximum amount of any Scholarship/Grant-in-Aid awarded by the College will not exceed the amount specified above in combination with other forms of financial aid such as the Federal Pell Grant, Alabama Student
Grant, private scholarships, and other sources of financial aid available to students.
Students selected for verification, a process by which the College must check the accuracy of the information which the applicant and his/her parent(s) report on the application for federal aid, are required to complete the verification process, including providing required documentation before receiving payment under any of the Title IV Federal Student Aid Programs or having a Student Loan certified by the College.
